Nate Morin was nominated and chosen as the PG Cares Youth of the Month. Nate is a 10th grader Alpine Latin School.

Nate is the oldest of six kids and goes out of his way to take care of his siblings, as well as others in the community. He’s 15 years old, plays football for PG high school and also wrestles for them.

Nate is an outstanding example of service and is constantly helping model good citizenship to his peers. One example that sticks out to me is that there is a family who attends our congregation who has three rambunctious boys under the age of 9 and the mom sometimes comes to church while managing their 4th child, a baby girl. Nate noticed that this family struggled with the boys having a hard time keeping their attention under control. Without being asked, prompted, or invited- Nate started sitting with this family instead of his own to help keep the three boys from being a distraction to the rest of the congregation.

This is just one example and Nate is filled with countless others. He is frequently being a stalwart example of not having his phone out in social situations and kindly encouraging his peers to do the same. He frequently visits a widow around the corner of his own volition. He found out that she fell and was not found for over a day.

Now he texts her every morning and night to check in on her. He also visits the neighbor across the street and helps with things as needed, such as taking care of the garbage-bin. Nate frequently helps out around the house without being asked, and when being asked responds politely and responsibly.

Nate’s mom added that he is the best big brother. He takes time to spend with every single sibling to develop a bond with each one. He encourages, inspires, uplifts, and tries to persuade all around him to be better. He wants others to feel God’s love for them by any small thing he can do because he has felt it.

Congratulations Nate!! We commend you for being an amazing example in our community and know that your influence is seen and noticed by others. Keep up the great work and keep making a difference!!
